ELIN PENDLETON - California
Elin Pendleton is a traditional realist.  Her memberships include the American Academy of Equine Art, Oil Painters of America, the National Acrylic Painters Association, and Women Artists of the West, for which she serves as a board member and her gallery representation is in Texas, Georgia, Alabama and California. She paints prolifically, with over 150 paintings per year, and her originals are in demand with collectors throughout the United States and Canada.  All of her paintings can be viewed on her web site at elinart.com, where one can see her newest works.  Her favorite subjects are animals, horses, plein air landscapes, and scenes that tell a story.  Elin's painting "Dust" won an award at the recent American Academy of Equine Art Fall Showcase and she hasproduced three how-to-paint with Attitude videos.  http://www.elinart.com

GWEN PENTECOST - California
Gwen's work centers primarily on western landscape.  She produces oil paintings in a richly-colored impressionis style, painting both plein-air and studio  Work.  A native of Carmel, CA, Gwen has taken advantage of her upbringing as an artist's daughter to bring a unique, yet timeless quality to her landscapes.  She is represented by Canyonside Gallery, Wickenburg AZ and Calvert (TX) Gallery At The Opera House and is a member of Women Artists of the West.. http://www.artbypentecost.com

LIS PRUSSEN - Luxembourg
Lis Prussen was born in 1956 in Esch/Alzette, GD Luxembourg,  She works and lives in Esch and has been influenced by the images of many cultures while traveling.  Her experiments with rust, pigments and acrylics on paper and metal have been well received in exhibitions and by collectors in Europe and the USA.  Her work is published in Signatures, A. Herr, Imp. Centrale, 2001 and Eise Minett, Ed. Binsfeld, 2002  prussen@vo.lu

PETE SCHMITT - Washington
Pete Schmitt is a 22 year old, self-taught, artist.  His influences include Carl Gustav Jung, Gertrude Stein (of whom he knows nothing but is sure he's been influenced by), and  Alex Toth, among others. His name is not an anagram for "I am post-modern art". Though he did once write a biography in third person, it is most reasonable to assume this was following standard protocol of affectationless representation rather than an attempt at literary depth, or even as some critics have asserted, his "hubris".   http://fleeboy.tripod.com/

DANIEL SHOUSE - Georgia
Former high-powered Art Director for Advertising agencies in New York and Miami,  Daniel Shouse opened his own agency in Miami's Coconut Grove and he lectured part-time at the University of Miami.  In 1986, he moved to the mountains of North Georgia to paint full time.  He recently opened a gallery to show his portraits, landscapes and historical scenes.  He is a member of Merit of the The Portrait Society of Atlanta and  conducted a portrait demo/seminar at The Morris Museum of Art during the Paint-L weekend in Augusta. http://artgirlsgallery.com/daniel.html

JEANNIE SOMMER - Louisiana
I started painting in 1977 and have tried almost all media.  At this point in my life, I paint in watercolor on gold and silk boards.I sometimes will use watercolor paper. My work tends to be abstract in nature. What I paint and how I paint depends on how my hands are doing. I am a signature member of the Kentucky Watercolor Society."  http://www.artplaces.com/sommer

LINDA STANLEY - Florida
After earning a BFA in Painting from University of Florida in 1972, Linda Stanley became an illustrator and Art Director.  She is now concentrating on fine art. Working in oil, pastel and acrylics she creates the passages of landscape, often juxtaposed with figural and/or still life objects.  http://www.lstanleystudios.com/

PAT STEPHENS - Louisiana
After years of being known as a creative type, I took up watercolor painting at 47 and met my late husband in the class.  We painted together for 5 years and then married and painted together another 5 years before his death.  I've had a hard time getting back in the groove since he died, but am beginning to "wake up" to my art.  I'm beginning to explore other water media and find it exciting.  I've taken workshops under Milford Zornes, Tony Van Hasselt, Judi Wagner, Charles Reid, Robert Wade, and Skip Lawrence.  They, as well as the members of the workshops, have been my main means of instruction.  I'm a member of the Hoover Watercolor society in Shreveport, LA.  patdart@cox-internet.com

BARBARA THIBODEAUX - Louisiana
Barbara Steele Thibodeaux is an American Folk Artist who specializes in the images and textures of her Louisiana landscape.  She draws deeply deeply in her work from the wellspring of the rich cultural heritage of her home in US deep south, including her own family history.  She is self-taught and her naive style has been recognized in juried exhibitions and collectors from all corners of the world have discovered the value of her depictions of the South.  Thibodeaux's meticulous attention to detail and willingness to communicate on the life and times of the people and artifacts that intrigue both her loyal collectors and people who encounter her work for the first time have contributed to her growing stature as an accomplished artist of the folk art genre. She is represented by such galleries as America. Oh Yes!, Washington, DC;  Jackson (MS) Municipal Art Gallery, and Live Oak Emporium,Ridgeland, S.C. http://folk-art.com

ROBIN WALKER - Texas

She has had solo shows both in New York City and nationally and has exhibited in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, Russia. In 1996, she began painting hearts on the snow and photographing them, in New York, Russia and in Akron, Ohio.  A group of these photographs were exhibited in a solo show at Henry Street Settlement in February, 2001.  (Paint-L artists have created "Anna's Hearts" where ever they have snow.)  West has conducted workshops for the Brooklyn Historical Society, designed murals for NYC public schools and taught darkroom photography for many years.  She has been involved with various internet art groups  since 1992 and is particularly thrilled to be participating in an exhibit with PaintL members. http://artplaces.com/west/
